ACB arrests two officers

Hyderabad, Jun 24 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials of Visakhapatnam Range today arrested an Agricultural Officer of Goligonda Mandal in Visakhapatnam District from his residence for accepting bribe, an ACB release said today.

According to the release, the accused D Venkataramaiah demanded and accepted the bribe from the complainant for releasing 99 packets of cotton seeds worth about Rs 45,000 seized by him without booking any case against the complainant.

Venkataramaiah would be produced before the Third Additional District and Sessions Judge cum Special Judge for ACB cases Visakhapatnam, the release added.

In another incident Anantapur Divisional Fire Office Superintendent M A Rehman was caught red handed by the ACB officials today at his Office when he demanded and accepted Rs 500 as illegal gratification from a complainant, who was the watchman of the same office for an official favour, the release said.
