Southwest monsoon has further advanced

Pune, June 23 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Gujarat region, remaining parts of Madhya Maharashtra, most parts of Marathwada and Telangana and some parts of Chattisgarh. The southwest monsoon also further advanced into some parts of Vidarbha and some more parts of Chattisgarh during next 48 hours.

The southwest monsoon has been vigorous in Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala and active in Orissa. Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of south Rajasthan and north Gujrat Region and heat wave condition also prevailed in some parts of southwest Madhya Pradesh.

In the regions where the southwest monsoon is yet to set in, day tempratures were appreciable above normal in Gujarat State and in remaining parts of south Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and were above normal in north Rajasthan and in some parts of west Uttar Pradesh.

They were normal over the rest of the regions.

Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Orissa, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Madhya Maharsshtra and Marathwada and at many places in Gangetic West Bengal, Vidarbha, Chattissgarh, Telangana, Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region and Tamil Nadu and at isolated places in Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Saurashtra and Kutch.

Heavy rains have occurred at most places in Orissa. Very light rain have occurred at isolated places in Bihar, Vidarbha and Saurashtra and Kutch. Rain or thundershowers have occurred in most places in Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Rayalaseema, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizo0ram, Tripura, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Uttaranchal, coastal Karnataka and south interior Karnataka, north interior Karnataka and active in Kerala.
