Sheikh Hasina meets Sonia Gandhi, E Ahamed
New Delhi, Jun 23 (UNI) Bangladesh opposition leader and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called on UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi here today and discussed with her the situation in her country which is going to polls early next year.
Earlier in the day, Ms Hasina offered prayers at the historic Nizamuddin Dargah and met Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed.
She had a meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh yesterday.
The Awami League leader, who arived here yesterday on a five-day private visit, offered prayers at Ajmer Sharief, the Dargah of Sufi saint Hazrat Moin-ud-Din Chisti.
Accompanied by a 15-member team, she offered the customary chadar at the Dargah.
She will be in Kolkatta tomorrow where she will receive the Mother Teresa award at Calcutta University.
Her 14-party alliance has been demanding electoral reforms ahead of the Parliamentary election.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia had come here in March thins year on a goodwill visit.
