SAD issues show cause notice to Calcutta

Chandigarh, June 23 (UNI) The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today issued a show cause notice to senior party leader Manjit Singh Calcutta, a member of the Political Affairs Committee of the party, for indulging in ''anti-party activities''.

The notice was issued by the chairman of the disciplinary committee of the party Gurdev Singh Badal early today, SAD Secretary Daljit Singh Cheema said.

''The notice, along with 22 press statements issued by Mr Calcutta from time to time, has been despatched to him by post'', Mr Cheema said.

Mr Calcutta had been given ten days' time to reply to the notice, he added.
