Railway announces special trains

Chennai, Jun 23 (UNI) The Southern Railway today announced special trains in the Patna-Chennai-Bangalore and Chennai-Nagercoil sectors and decided to increase the frequency of Podhigai express from bi-weekly to tri-weekly with effect from August three.

A railway release here said that the Patna-Bangalore special would leave Patna at 2245 hrs on June 24 and arrive in Chennai at 1745 hrs on June 26. Leaving Chennai central on the same day, the train would reach Bangalore at 0145 hrs the next day.

In return, the tain would leave Bangalore at 2350 hrs on June 28 and arrive Chennai Central at 0735 hrs the next day. Leaving Chennai central at 0800 hrs on the same day, the tain would reach Patna at 0405 hrs on August one.

The Nagercoil-Chennai special would leave Nagercoil at 1930 hrs on June 28 and arrive in Chennai Egmore at 0900 hrs, the next day.

Advance reservation for the above trains would commence tomorrow, the release said.

It said additional days of service of Podhigai Express between Chennai Egmore and Tenkasi would be on Mondays with effect from August three from Chennai Egmore and on Tuesdays with effect from August four from Tenkasi.
