Puma launches exclusive store in Chennai

Chennai, Jun 23 (UNI) Puma, the leading Sports Lifestyle company, today launched its first exclusive store in the city and unveiled its startegy to leap into the Indian market during this year.

Giving details of the plans, Managing Director, Rajiv Mehta said the company had drawn out strategies to achieve its aim of becoming the most desirable sports lifestyle brand in the country.

"Puma promises to offer a wide range of apparel and accessories in a completely novel and unique environment through its exclusive branded store," he said.

The Chennai store, done in the official colours of red and white and spread over 1,500 sq ft, houses the entire international collection of Puma apparels, shoes and accessories, he said.

Within this year, Puma would open stores in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Chandigarh and Hyderabad, which were classified as "A" class cities and next year in Ahmedabad and Jaipur.

The Company would focus on three of its pillars- Sports, Lifestyle and Fashion, he said adding while sports and lifestyle have already come, fashion would be introduced in India in two years'time.

The company would launch an agressive marketing strategy to capture atleast 10 per cent of the market share in the first year.

The marketing campaign would be launched through print and visual media, he added.
