NCW sex racket case: Accuser gives Ahmed Patel clean chit
The woman had withdrawn her petition yesterday in the apex court seeking CBI inquiry into her allegations against National Commission for Women (NCW) member Yasmin Abrar for allegedly running a sex racket for the leading politicians and the rich' The petitioner who had alleged forcible rape committed on her by some MPs including Patel and Meerut MP Shahid Akhlaq at the instance of Abrar yesterday filed an amendment application seeking to drop the name of Ahmed Patel and also seeking court's permission to withdraw all allegations made by her against Patel.
The application was allowed yesterday by a bench comprising Justices A R Lakshmanan and Altamas Kabir who also permitted the petitioner to withdraw the petition on the grounds that in view of the changed circumstances she was not interested in pursuing her petition.
The amended petition filed today in terms of the court's order dated June 22 has, however, retained the name of Yasmin Abrar and Meerut MP Akhlaq belonging to BSP as respondents in the case along with the chairperson of NCW and the Central government.
The petitioner, wife of an army personnel, had made serious allegations against the respondents alleging forcible sexual assault on her.
