MPSC scam: Court directs police to file complaint against Poojari

Mumbai, June 23 (UNI) A metropolitan court today directed Borivli police to register a complaint against Sudhakar Poojari, the former investigating officer in the multi-crore MPSC scam and submit a report in the court within 60 days.

Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) scam accused Baban Kadam today filed an application seeking a directive from court to police, to register a complaint against Poojari under several heads of Indian Penal Code (IPC), including wrongful confinment, forgery, public servant disobeying law, filing incorrect documents and others.

Kadam's lawyer Samir Vaidya said Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (Borivali court) A G Mohabe directed Borivali police to register a case against Poojari, investigate the matter and submit the report in the court within 60 days of order.

This is the second order passed by the magisterial court to register complaint against Poojari, after his transfer from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

On June 21, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate S Y Shisode had directed Colaba police to register case against Poojari and file a report in the court.

Poojari was investigating the MPSC scam since June 29, 2002, in which 29 accused, including former MPSC Chairman Dr S D Karnik, Mr P D Wani, MPSC examination controller Sudhakar Sarode, MPSC member Sayali Joshi and others have been arrested. All of them are currently on bail.
