Location for nuke power plant identified in Haryana

Chandigarh, Jun 23 (UNI) The location for setting up a nuclear power plant in Haryana has been identified, Power Minister Venod Sharma said today.

The Nuclear Power Corporation (NPC) has already identified the site at Kumharia in Fatehabad district where the state government had agreed to supply the adequate quantity of water for the peoposed plant, Mr Sharma said while talking to reporters here Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had also assured to consider the state's demand for setting up a nuclear power plant during his last visit to Panipat, he pointed out.

To a question, the Minister said the state government was prepared to get power from any available source so that the farmers did not suffer for want of adequate electricity.
