Vijayawada, June 23 (UNI) Nagarjuna Cement Limited (NCL) General Manager U V Ramaraju, who was kidnapped along with his personal officer by members of Pratigatana Seenanna Dalam on June 19, today said that the Naxals had treated him well in the dense forests.

Talking to mediapersons who visited his house this morning, Mr Ramaraju said, some unidentified persons had came to the site to take him away along with Mr Shaik Galeb Saheb.

When he and other staff resisted, the Naxals overpowered and abducted both of them.

Dalam members later took them to Kothagudem forest in Khammam district where they were joined by another group, he said.

However, Mr Ramaraju said after that the Dalam members went out of the forest to attend a relative's marriage party, they were spotted by police, who kept strict vigil on their movements.

The Dalam members, later took him while Mr Saheb was taken by another group to some other place.

Asked about his release, the General Manager said he was not aware of it, but confirmed that the Naxals had demanded a ransom of Rs one crore.

He, however, attributed his release to the intensified combing operations of the police.
