Jodhpur, June 23: A local court here today reserved its judgment in the case relating to illegal possession of arms by Bollywood actor Salman Khan till June 26.

The court of magistrate Dalpat Singh Rajpurohit today heard the defense counsel, which was responding to a petition filed by the prosecution. The prosecution presented an application along with 25 documents in the court on June 19, urging it to consider these documents as proofs.

These documents have been recorded in the Kankani poaching case but the prosecution had failed to produce these documents in the illegal possession of arms case.

The defense counsel Hastimal Saraswat said in the court today that these documents were already available with the police but these were not considered important when the police produced the challan. He argued these documents are related to the witnesses and the prosecution failed to produce these documents during the cross examination of the witnesses, so that the defense counsel refrains from questioning them over the matter.

Mr Saraswat said presenting these documents during the examination of the last witness is not right and the court should dismiss the prosecution's application.

The court after hearing both the sides decided to reserve its judgement till June 26.

The forest department had lodged a case of illegal possession of arms by Salman Khan in Luni police station on October 15, 1998.

The case is on for the last eight years in the court. Around 15 witnesses have been cross-examined in this case.

The last witness in the case - the then Upper Superintendent Ashok Patni - remains to be heard.
