India strongly rejects OIC reference to J and K

New Delhi, Jun 23 (UNI) India today strongly rejected any references to Jammu and Kashmir by the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) Foreign Ministers meeting held at Baku in Azerbaijan from June 19-21, saying it (the OIC) had no locus standi in matters concerning India's internal affairs.

''We regret that the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) has once again chosen to comment upon Jammu and Kashmir at the OIC Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan. Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and the OIC has no locus standi in matters concerning India's internal affairs. We reject all such references,'' the External Affairs Ministry said in a statement issued here.

The OIC Foreign Ministers who held their 33rd session at Baku, adopted a resolution on Kashmir expressing concern over the alleged human rights violations in the valley.

The resolution also expressed regret that India was not allowing the a fact-finding team of the OIC to visit Kashmir.

The three-day OIC meeting which concluded on June 21, was attended by delegates from about 50 countries and discussed Palestine, Iraq, Kashmir and several other issues.
