Ahmedabad, June 23 (UNI) Rajesh Sheth, a deaf and blind person who runs a successful business at Limdi in Surendranagar district, has been honoured by the Gujarat government with 'Outstanding Self-employed Disabled Person' award.

Sheth, who was born deaf and slowly lost his vision as he grew up, runs a sweet shop independently and excels in preparing samosas, fafdas and jalebis. He is able to support his aged parents as any other normal person would, said a statement issued by Sense International, an organisation which works with deafblind people across the country.

His story is an ''exemplary example of triumph against adversity... of both personal and professional achievements in spite of losing vision and hearing at a tender age,'' the statement said.
