Goa CM condoles Dr Sardessai's death
Panaji, June 23 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane today expressed profound grief over the demise of state's well-known writer Dr Manoharrai Sardessai.
In a statement, Mr Rane said that the passing away of this great man of letters has caused a void in the intellectual activity in the state.
The chief minister said that Dr Sardessai had made his mark in the field of literature, particularly poetry. He was an intellectual giant, who could mould the highest thoughts in simple language. His poems and books stood testimoney to his profound erudition.
Mr Rane stated that he has been reading Dr Sardessai's literary work, particularly the poems, and was always impressed by his literary style.
Meanwhile, Bal Bhavan Chairperson Vijayadevi Rane called on the bereaved family and offered her condolences.
