Dalit Christians, Muslims call on HRD Minister

New Delhi, June 23 (UNI) A delegation of dalit Muslims and Christians, led by Minister of State for Telecommunications Shakeel Ahmed, today called on HRD Minister Arjun Singh and demanded that the Government table a bill in the monsoon session of Parliament on quota for the two minorities along with the OBC reservation Bill.

The delegation also submitted a memorandum to Mr Singh on the issue.

All India United Muslim Morcha President M Aejas raised the issue of alleged ''discriminations'' with the minorities over the past 56 years with the HRD Minister.

Mr Singh gave the delegation a patient hearing and assured them that the government will look into their demands.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Socialist Front conducted a seminar on reservation of dalits Christians and Muslims today.
