Cong has nothing to do with security clearance to Naresh Goyal
New Delhi, June 23 (UNI) The Congress today sought to distance itself from the controversy over Home Ministry's security clearance to Jet Airways chief Naresh Goyal rejecting charges that he had links with the underworld.
The party had nothing to with the clearance which was purely an administrative decision following verifications, party spokesperson Jayanti Natarajan told reporters.
She was responding to a question relating to former Civil Aviation Minister Sharad Yadav's statement expressing surprise over the development in the wake of the dispute over Jet Airways' attempt to acquire Air Sahara.
Asked about another controversy over Haryana government's Rs 40,000 crore deal with the Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) of Mr Mukesh Ambani for the development of a Special Economic Zone (SEZ), she said she was confident that the move was made in the best interest of the state.
