Arrested SI send to police custody
New Delhi, Jun 23 (UNI) A city court today remanded to one-day police custody a Delhi Police Sub-Inspector, arrested for demanding and accepting bribe from a woman for not arresting her.
SI Rajinder Singh had demanded Rs 50,000 from Veermati for not arresting her in a case of a property been sold to two people, in which her husband and a property dealer had already been arrested.
The policeman was caught yesterday from near Ambedkar Hospital in West Delhi accepting Rs 25,000 as part payment of the bribe he had demanded. A case had been registered at Sultanpuri Police Station.
Special Judge Sunil Gaur send the Singh to a day's police cutody.
