London, June 23 (UNI) A warning for running on the pitch and scores of 2 and 0 were all Sourav Ganguly had to show in his horrendous debut for Northamptonshire in the County Championship Division Two game against Worcestershire at New Road here today.

After Worcestershire won the toss and declared their first innings at 543 for nine, Northamptonshire were bundled out for a meagre 67, with Zaheer Khan claiming five wickets, including that of his former captain who scored two.

Following on, Northamptonshire were reeling at 185 for eight in 62 over with a humiliating defeat looming large and Gangely was out for a duck.

After scoring two in the first innings before Zaheer castled him, much was expected from Ganguly who came at fourth down but the southpaw lasted just seven balls and could not open his account and was caught by Phil Jaques off Matt Mason.

Zaheer added one more wicket to his first innings tally of five and seemed hungry for more.

Nothing went right for Ganguly in the match and on Wednesday, he was warned for running on the pitch by umpire Jeremy Lloyds while bowling.

Here for a six-week stint with Northamptonshire as a stand-in for Aussie batsman Chris Rogers, Ganguly went wicketless and conceded 23 runs in his nine overs, which also including three maidens.
