CM to vist Bangladesh to improve bilatteral relations
Aizawl, Jun 22 : In a bid to improve the bilateral relations, Bangladesh Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan has invited Chief Minister Zoramthanga to visit his country.
The invitation has been conveyed through the Bangladesh High Commissioner in India, the official sources here today informed.
Mr Zoramthanga is expected to visit Bangladesh next month, the sources said adding "improving border trade, controlling insurgents activities in the border area opening up a land customs station in Bangaladesh and other related issues would be discussed during the chief minister visit." Apart from this, trading community from both Bangladesh and Mizoram would also be invited for a study tours expressing their keen interest for establishment of trade relations in the region.
Earlier, Mr Zoramthanga met Bangladesh Prime Minister in New Delhi during the month of March, where he discussed her about border trade and other developmental issues between Mizoram and Bangladesh.
The bureaucrats here have already identified that bamboo chips, ginger, orange, chillies, passion fruit cucumber, banana, papaya, seasmum and citrus fruits could be exported from Mizoram.
