High Court seeks list of illegal apartments in Patna

Patna, June 22 (UNI) Patna High Court today asked the Patna Regional Development Authority (PRDA) to submit the comprehensive list of such apartments within three weeks, which were constructed in the state capital without following its guidelines.

The court also asked the PRDA to file action taken report in this regard within three weeks.

A division bench of the court comprising Justice R N Prasad and Justice S K Katariyar took strong exception of the fact that only 50 of the 1401 apartments of Patna were constructed as per the guidelines of the PRDA.

The court asked the PRDA why any legal action was not taken against the builders, who constructed the apartments without any formal approval from the concerned authorities.

During the hearing, the petitioner informed the court that several apartments had come up on narrow lanes of the Patna which could result in loss of lives in the event of earthquake.
