Lalu assures Tiwari of renovation of old tunnels and bridges .

Dehradun, June 21 (UNI) Railway Minister Lalu Prasad has assured Uttaranchal Chief Minister ND Tiwari of renovating old railway tunnels and bridges in the state.

Expressing concern over a 100-year-old tunnel at Haridwar and other similar aging tunels and bridges posing a threat for want of maintenance, the Chief Minister had urged Mr Prasad to take note of the matter.

Mr Tiwari had further issued instructions to all the Distict Magistrates to curb human encroachment over railway tunnels and submit comprehensive report after conducting survey on the condition of railway tracks passing through their areas.
