Srinagar, June 21 (UNI) Hailing the opening of Poonch-Rawalkot road, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig said it was yet another step towards creating an atmosphere of mutual trust and friendship between the two neighbours.

He said besides providing opportunity to the divided families living across the Line of Control (LoC) to meet their dear ones, the opening up of this road would also turn into a friendship link between the two parts.

He said in due course of time the road will also serve as a trade and business route across the LoC subsequently aiding economic uplift of both the areas.

Mr Baig referring to the converting of Srinagar-Muzafarrabad road into a trade route, said this would prove highly beneficial for the people living on both sides of LoC and give new impetus to economic activities.

He said the horticulture produce and handicraft items would form important export items through this route and it would ultimately expand the area of marketing for the Jammu and Kashmir products upto Central Asia in due course of time.
