Absconding sex racket accused Sethi surrenders in Jammu court
Srinagar, June 21 (UNI) Former Jammu and Kashmir Additional Advocate General Anil Sethi, wanted for his alleged involvement in the recently unearthed sex scandal, today surrendered in a court in the winter capital of the state.
The surrender came a day after the CBI arrested two former Jammu and Kashmir Ministers and sitting legislators Ghulam Ahmed Mir and Raman Mattoo in connection with the sex racket case.
Earlier, on June 19, the CBI had announced a reward of Rs two lakh to anyone giving information or clues about Sethi, who is the son of former Jammu and Kashmir Accountability Commission Chairman Justice (retd) R P Sethi.
Sources said Sethi surrendered in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu, this afternoon.
They said Sethi suddenly appeared in the CJM's court and surrendered before the authorities, taking everyone by surprise.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police later sought Sethi's three-day transit remand which was granted by the CJM, Jammu.
CJM (Srinagar) Mohammad Yousuf Akhoon had issued a non-bailable warrant against Sethi on June 5 after he failed to appear before the CBI for Test Identification Parade (TIP) in front of a minor victim who had alleged that the lawyer, along with others, had raped her.
