Bangalore, June 20 (UNI) Former Karnataka legislator and Congress leader C M Lingappa, accused of threatening and abusing party MP Tesjaswini Ramesh, has lodged a similar complaint against the journalist-turned-politician.

In his complaint, filed at the Ijoor police station in Ramanagaram town yesterday, Mr Lingappa alleged that on June 17 last, Ms Ramesh had used abusive and foul language against him, besides hurling out threats.

He said that on that day, Ms Ramesh had arrived at a polling station in Ramanagaram town where polling was in process for the biennial elections to the Karnataka Legislative Council and picked up a quarrel and unnecessarily used foul and abusive language against him.

He further alleged that Ms Ramesh had threatened him when he questioned her as to why she was identifying herself with JD(S) leaders, including Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, and ignoring Congress leaders and workers in the constituency.

On June 17, Ms Ramesh had lodged a complaint in the same station that Mr Lingappa, along with his son and supporters, had abused and threatened her when she visited Ramanagaram.

She had also dashed off a letter to party President Sonia Gandhi seeking an inquiry into the incident and expulsion of Mr Lingappa from the party.

The police said investigation was on into the complaints lodged by both Ms Ramesh and Mr Lingappa. A First Information Report had also been submitted to the JMFC court in Ramanagaram on the complaint lodged by Ms Ramesh, they added.
