Bail of Zahira' mother extended till June 28
Mumbai, June 20 (UNI) A sessions court here today extended the bail of Zahira Sheikh's mother Sehrunissa till June 28 and reserved its order against her brother Nasibulla Sheikh till tomorrow.
Earlier, Additional Sessions Judge Abhay Thipsay in his order had sought a letter from a probation officer on the conduct of Nasibulla, before deciding the quantum of punishment.
In his order today, the judge admitted the note presented by social organisation 'Prayas' with regard to Nasibulla, but demanded a similar letter from a government probation officer as well.
Meanwhile, Zahira Sheikh, the eye witness-turned-accused of perjury, has been shifted to the women's cell of Nashik Central jail from Byculla civil prison to undergo sentence for more than one year term.
At present, Zahira is undergoing cocurrent imprisonment of one year and a fine of Rs 50,000 awarded to her by Supreme Court for filing a false affidavit, along with another three-month rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 500 ordered by a sessions court for perjury during her retrial here.
