MCOCA court defers the bail hearing of Sujata to June 23

Mumbai, June 19 (UNI) MCOCA court today deferred the bail plea hearing of Chhota Rajan's wife Sujata Nikhalje and his elder brother Prakash Nikhalje, arrested in connection with their involvement in an extortion case, to June 23.

The matter came before the special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court judge Abhay Thipsay today and the court adjourned the hearing to Friday.

Sujata who was arrested on December 14 last year along with Rajan's elder brother Prakash Nikhalje, had approached the MCOCA court pleading bail in this case.

In all, the six accused who were arrested in the case, are in judicial custody including Rajan's wife, his brother Prakash Nikhalje and their three accomplices Suresh Shinde, Harvinder Singh alias Kookoo Daruwala, Rakesh Surve and her chartered accountant Bharat Dudhani.

The police alleged that Sujata had received half of the Rs ten lakh extortion amount from the complainant.
