Bunch of hair weighing 3.5 kgs removed from woman's stomach

Jaunpur, June 18 (UNI) A bunch of hair weighing 3.5 kgs was removed from the stomach of a woman after a lengthy operation in a hospital.

Sources said Sharmila Gupta (32) of village Kanapur always complained of pain in her stomach. She took medicines but no medicine could relieve her.

Yesterday, she was operated upon by Dr S P Tiwari of the local Shahganj hospital.

The operation lasted three hours and ended with the removal of the bunch of hair, Dr Tiwari said adding, Sharmila was keeping fine.

However, the formation of the bunch is still a mystery for the doctors.
