MCOCA court remands LeT operative to judicial custody till june 21

Mumbai, June 16 (UNI) The Special MCOCA court today remanded to suspected Lashkar-e-Toiba (Let) activist Bilal Abdul Rajak, arrested by the anti terrorist squad in connection with the seizure of large quantity of arms and ammunition from Aurangabad last month, to judicial custody till June 21.

The ATS today produced Bilal, who was arrested on May 17, before the MCOCA judge Mridula Bhatkar and did not seek further police custody.

The ATS, in a joint operation with the Aurangabad police on May nine, had arrested one Mohd Amir Shakil Ahmed and the next day, two other terrorists, including an activist of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), from near the Ghrushneshwar temple at Verul village and seized arms and ammunition from them.

On the basis of the information collected from the trio, ATS arrested ten more persons from Aurangabad and seized 16 AK-47s, 43 kg RDX, 4000 ammunition rounds and 50 hand grenades during the operation.

The total number of arrest in this case had gone upto 14 with a suspected LET operative Afroz Khan surrendered before the court on June 13. Khan was allegedly involved in the conspiracy to transport explosives.
