Housing Corporation with Rs 500 corpus set up for Delhi Police

New Delhi, June 16 (UNI) The Union cabinet today approved the setting up of a housing corporation for the Delhi Police with a corpus of Rs 500 crore.

The amount, alloted for the next five years, comes under the Police Modernisation Scheme under which Rs 100 crore would be spent each year.

This was besides the already alloted sum of nearly 60 crores per annum the Delhi Police gets to construct houses for its personnel.

Upper subordinates and lower subordinates of the Delhi Police would benefit most from the new scheme.
