WHO confirms another bird flu death in Indonesia

JAKARTA, June 15 (Reuters) The World Health Organisation has confirmed a seven-year-old Indonesian girl who died last month was infected with bird flu, a health ministry official said today, taking the total number of confirmed bird flu deaths in the country to 38.

Nyoman Kandun, a director general at the ministry, said a WHO laboratory in Hong Kong had tested fluid from the lungs of the girl, from Pamulang on the outskirts of Jakarta.
