Six member of a family murdered

Sangli, Maharashtra, June 15 (UNI) Six members of a family were stabbed to death at Gavade Mala near Arag village at Miraj tehsil of this district, early morning today.

Police said that Gavade family were attacked by unidentified persons, who later fled away.

The deceased have been indetified as - Balasaheb Gavade (50), wife Shrimanti (40), three children - Jayashree (18), Sunil (15) Chaya (12) and Balasaheb's sister Shantabai (60).

The reason behind the crime is yet to be ascertained, police added.
