Sidhu takes charge as Meghalaya Governor
Shillong, Jun 15 (UNI) Manipur Governor Dr Shivinder Singh Sidhu today took the oath of secrecy as acting Meghalaya Governor, from Chief Justice B Sudershan Reddy of Guwahati High Court.
Dr Sidhu officially took charge this evening as the Meghalaya Governor M M Jacob is currently on leave to meet his ailing daughter in Germany.
Among those who were present at a simple swearing-in ceremony at the Raj Bhawan, included outgoing Meghalaya Chief Minister D D Lapang, his Deputy Chief Minister Deborah C Marak, designated Chief Minister JD Rymbai, DG Assam Rifles, Lt Gen Bhupender Singh, GOC 101 Area Major General A K Nanda, Chief Secretary S K Tewari, State Director General of Police William R Marbaniang, council of ministers and a host of senior government officials.
