Rymbai becomes Meghalaya Chief Minister
Shillong, June 15 (UNI) Mr J D Rymbai was sworn in as Chief Minister of Meghalaya after the resignation of Mr D D Lapang today.
Other two Minister Dr Donkupar Roy, who was Deputy Chief Minister in the Lapang Ministry, and Mr Martle Mukhim, another Cabinet Minister, were also sworn in.
Acting Governor Dr Shivinder Singh Sidhu administred the oath of office and secrecy at a simple ceremony at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan this evening.
The expansion of the newly-formed Ministry is expected shortly.
Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee, former Deputy Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, AICC general secretary Oscar Fernandes, former Chief Minister D D Lapang, cabinet colleagues along with other political parties leaders and senior government officials were present at the ceremony.
