Reliance to hold recruitment fairs in Bihar

Patna, June 15 : Reliance group would organise ''recruitment fairs'' at various places in Bihar to select skilled workers for absorbing in the firm's units in Gujarat.

''Noted Indian company-The Reliance group in cooperation with the Bihar government will organise recruitment fairs in different towns of the state for appointing carpenters to be engaged in the companys Jamnagar unit in Gujarat, '' Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi announced here yesterday.

Reviewing the work of state labour, employment and training department here, Mr Modi said the recruitment fairs would be organised in Patna, Gaya and Muzaffarpur on June 27, 28 and 29 respectively.

All carpenters, who received training at Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), and other skilled carpenters would have an opportunity to secure jobs in the Reliance through fairs, he maintained.

Mr Modi while addressing the review meeting asked the officers to make the ''Overseas Recruitment Board'' effective to facilitate the ITI trained personnel to secure jobs abroad.

He said students of post matric stage were often confronted with the problem of selecting right career option and declared that a 'career counselling fair' would be organised in Patna before June 30 to guide such students.

Stressing on the need for comprehensive labour reforms in the backdrop of liberalisation and new industrial policy, Mr Modi, also holding the portfolio of the Labour department, asked the department to take effective steps in this regard.
