Policeman rapes complainant in police station

Dholpur, June 15 : A police constable has been arressted for allegedly raping a woman who had come to the police station for lodging a complain to.

The victim, a married woman, had gone to the police station on Station Road on Tuesday afternoon for lodging a complaint against her in-laws.

There were three policemen at the police station at that time, two of them went out on pretext of some work.

Constable shailendra Singh all egedly took the victim to a room in the police station and raped her and later asked her to return to her village. Singh also asked her to come to the police station on Tuesday night again.

The victim narrated the whole incident to her husband who met police superintendent Prafulla Kumar and complained about Singh. Mr Kumar lodged a complaint against Singh and arrested him.

Departmental proceedings have also been initiated against the accused.
