Panchayat youth campaign to begin on June 19

New Delhi, June 15 (UNI) A national Panchayat Yuva Shakti Abhiyan (Youth campaign) will be launched on June 19 from Faridabad in Haryana by Union Minister for Panchayati Raj and Youth Affairs and Sports Mani Shankar Aiyar.

During the two-day function, five working groups will discuss issues such as strengthening Panchayati Raj Institutions and Youth Clubs through youth participation, role of PRIs and youth clubs in developmental programmes and rural business hubs, role of PRIs and Youth Clubs in health, hygiene and sanitation, literacy and education as also their role in fitness and sports.

The aim is to empower the youth and youth clubs to mobilise the communities and improve environmental actions and to develop inter linkages between youth groups and PRIs and empower the youth for decision-making, says an official release.
