Nasibullah to be sent to custody of probationary officer

Mumbai, June 15 (UNI) Additional Session Court Judge Abhay Thipsay today reserved his order till June 20 on sending Nasibullah, younger brother of prime witness Zahira Sheikh and an accused of perjury in the Best Bakery case, to the custody of a probationary officer.

Prayas, probationary officer affiliated to Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS), has sought time to submit reports pertaining to the custody of Nasibullah.

Mr Thipsay said in his order that Nasibullah, who was held guilty for perjury, was not a 'habitual' criminal and considering his age, the court decided to send him to a probationary officer instead of awarding jail custody.

Nasibullah was held guilty for giving false evidence during the re-trial of Best Bakery case here.
