LogicaCMG to enter energy, utilities mkt
Bangalore, June 15: Leading IT services company LogicaCMG today announced its foray into the energy and utilities market in India and presented its market leading solution Prodis at the SAP Summit in Mumbai.
Prodis addressed the need for upstream natural gas businesses to integrate and standardise their IT systems, LogicaCMG said in a release here.
Powered by SAP NetWeaver, Prodis managed and accounted for the production of hydrocarbons from the reservoir, through production facilities, pipelines and terminals to the sales point. Prodis was vital to international oil and gas businesses due to their increasing need to share information within and between their operating companies to improve efficiency and cut costs, while also helping companies to meet Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, it said.
Prodis was currently deployed at over 30 offshore platforms, five gas terminals and three pipelines and managed over 70 per cent of the UK and 33 per cent of the Dutch gas storage capacity.
As part of its commitment to SAP practice, LogicaCMG, a leading global partner of SAP, planned to add 200 SAP professionals to its team in Bangalore by the year-end, the release said.
LogicaCMG Managing Director (South Asia) Kannan Ramaswamy said ''the fast growing energy and utilities sector in India represents a huge opportunity for IT solutions.''
