Liquor worth Rs 15.15 lakh seized in Guj

Ahmedabad, Jun 14 (UNI) The city police seized a huge quantity of Indian made foreign liquor valued at about Rs 15.15 lakh from a truck and arrested three persons in this connection from Indira Bridge area of the city early today.

According to the sources said acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (G-Division) J G Parmar set up a dragnet near Indira Bridge and after chasing a car for few kilometers, intercepted it near Kotarpur village around 0200 hours.

During the search of the car, police found as many as 339 cartons containing over 4,000 bottles of Indian made foreign liquor, valued at about Rs 15.15 lakh.

The liquor was loaded in the car in Rajasthan and was to be delivered to a noted bootlegger of Nadiad town, about 45 kms from here, on Nadiad-Himmatnagar highway, police sources said.
