Bangalore, Jun 15: Tamil Nadu will soon bring in a comprehensive Information Technology policy to usher in IT revolution in the State, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi announced today.

Talking to newspersons after holding a 45-minute meeting with Wipro chief Azim Premji on the IT major's campus here, he said the policy would involve setting up of a task force and addressing issues related to infrastructural aspects. Simultaneously, overall development of tier-II cities like Madurai, Coimbatore and Tirunelveli would be taken care of. Efforts would be made to ensure that the growth achieved by Bangalore was replicated in Chennai.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Union IT and Communications Minister Dayanidhi Maran while visiting the Wipro facility.
Mr Karunanidhi, who was here on a three-day private visit, was also likely to meet other leaders in the sector and pay a visit to IT bellwether Infosys later in the day.
