Kanshi Ram's kin urge SC to move him to AIIMS

New Delhi, Jun 15 (UNI) Brothers of former BSP president Kanshi Ram, who is undergoing treatment at Batra hospital here, today moved the Supreme Court seeking directions to shift him to AIIMS as his condition has suddenly deteriorated.

The petitioners, Dalbara Singh and Harbans Singh, alleged that Kanshi Ram is being subjected to slow poisoning at Batra hospital at the behest of BSP supremo Mayawati.

They said Mayawati and her ''musclemen'' were not allowing the family of the ailing leader to see him.

Their counsel Ajay Agarwal said they had been mercilessly beaten on March 15 this year when they had gone to visit their brother at the hospital.

A complaint in this connection was filed at the Tuglak Road police station.

The petitioners have prayed to the court to order his treatment under the supervision of a medical board and that the two brothers may be permitted to attend to Kanshi Ram instead of Ms Mayawati.

They have also moved a separate application for recalling the order of the apex court dismissing their petition as withdrawn after the death of Kanshi Ram's mother Bishan Kaur.
