Haryana to auction fishing rights for notified waters

Chandigarh, June 15 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to put on auction the fishing rights for notified waters like rivers, canals and drains of all districts in the state.

A spokesman for the Fisheries Department said the notified waters, including rivers, canals and drains of all districts, would be put on auction for 2006-07 on July 6 at Sonepat.

He said the interested bidders would have to deposit Rs 10,000 as earnest money to take part in the auction.

In case, the auction could not be completed for some districts on July 6, it would be held again on July 13, July 20 and July 27 at the same venue.

He said the details could be obtained from the office of District Fisheries Officer-Cum-Chief Executive Officer, Fish Farmers Development Agency of the district or Deputy Director, Fisheries at divisional level or Director, Fisheries, Panchkula.
