GE Shipping places order for a Jack Up Rig with a Singapore firm

Mumbai, June 15 (UNI) Great Eastern Shipping Company Ltd (GE Shipping) has placed a new building order for a 350 ft Jack Up Rig with Keppel FELS Ltd, Singapore.

Announcing this to BSE, the company said the order was placed through one of its wholly owned subsidiaries and the rig is scheduled for delivery during Q4 CY 2009.

The decision to place this order forms an integral part of the company's strategy to participate in the growing off-shore Exploration and Production (E&P) arena.

With this, the company has an orderbook of four PSVs (Platform Support Vessels) - two Secondhand and New Building - and a new building Jack Up rig.
