Dudhwa National Park closed for 5 months; reopens Nov 15
Lakhimpur Kheri, June 15 (UNI) Dudhwa National Park (DNP) was today closed for five months and would reopen for tourists on November 15.
''The 'kuccha' (unmetalled) pathways in the Park deteriorate during rainy season and it is closed between June 15 and November 14 every year,'' DNP deputy director P P Singh told UNI here.
Meanwhile, the Park registered a 25 per cent decrease in the number of tourists visiting the world famous sanctuary this year.
Last year 4,634 backpackers had visited DNP.
''We have sent several proposals to the government to offer better facilities to tourists from next year,'' Mr Singh informed.
