Dowry demand drives young woman to end life

Bijapur, Karnataka, June 15 (UNI) Unable to bear the dowry harassment of her in-laws, a young woman committed suicide by strangulating herself at her house at Balaganur village in this district, today.

Police said Prathibha Ramachandra Bhajantri (19) took the extreme step as her in-laws tortured her to bring more cash and gold ornaments from her father's place.

Police registered a dowry death case against her father-in-law Shrimant Gangappa Bhajantri and three others.
