Hyderabad, June 15 (UNI) CPI(M) politburo member and state secretary B V Raghavulu today said his party would go alone in the ensuing panchayat polls, if the ongoing talks with the TDP did not succeed.

Talking to reporters at the party office here, Mr Raghavulu said that an earnest attempt was being made by both parties to reach an understanding on seat-sharing, and if the talks did not succeed, his party would fight on its own strength.

On the allegations made by some Congress leaders against him and his party, Mr Raghavulu said they reflected the level to which the ruling party would stoop. ''We are virtuous as long as we are with them. Once we leave their company, we become evil forces'', he quipped.

Recently Roads and Buildings Minister Jakkampudi Rama Mohana Rao alleged that Mr Raghavulu had started some colleges by lobbying during the TDP regime and owed his loyalty there. Mr Raghavulu, however, challenged Mr Rao to prove his allegation.
