31 CSWs including 25 minor girls rescued

Mumbai, June 15 (UNI) Police has rescued 31 commercial sex workers (CSW), including 25 minors, and also arrested four pimps in this connection.

Social Service Branch (SSB) senior Inspector Suresh Joshi today said acting on a tip-off, their team raided a brothel operational at Marwadi chawl, Hanuman Galli in the South Central Mumbai at 1945 hrs yesterday and rescued 31 CSWs, including 25 minors, and arrested four touts.

The rescued CSWs were sent to remand home in the eastern suburb of Chembur.

A case has been registered under PITA (Prevention of Immoral Trifficking Act) and further investigations are on, he added.
