UP collected Rs 11,804 cr Trade Tax in FY06

Lucknow, June 14: Uttar Pradesh collected Rs 11,804.68 crore as Trade Tax (TT) in last fiscal, which was Rs 2,578.34 crore or 27.95 per cent more than the target.

Interestingly, UP is one of the few states, which have not moved to the Value Added Tax (VAT) regime.

Official sources today said the states, where VAT was in force, had merely recorded a 14 per cent increase in TT collections over last year.
