Militants condemn massacre of non-Kashmiri labourers
Srinagar, June 14 (UNI) Several militant outfits have condemned and distanced themselves from the massacre of nine non-Kashmiri labourers at Badroo village in Anantnag district on Monday.
In separate statements to a local news agency, the outfits condemned the massacre.
''The incident was carried out to malign the image of militants and label the freedom struggle in Kashmir as terrorism,'' said Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) spokesman Dr Abdullah Gaznavi.
Hizbul Mujahideen spokesman Ahsan Ilahi said such killings serve no purpose for militants.
''Militants had earlier killed a JAKLI trooper in the area after which uniformed gunmen gunned down the labourers,'' he alleged.
The Jamiat-ul-Mujahideen (JuM) militant outfit also condemned the killing of labourers at Yaripora and the grenade attack at the Jammu bus stand.
''Militants cannot even think of killing the non-Muslim labourers who had come to Kashmir to earn their livelihood,'' JuM spokesman Jameel Ahmad said in a statement.
