Kuldeep Sinha takes over as Chief Producer of Films Division

Mumbai, June 14 (UNI) Kuldeep Sinha, hitherto the Deputy Chief Producer, Films Division in the Information and Broadcasting, ministry has taken over charge as the Chief Producer of Films Division and as the CEO Children's Film Society of India, Mumbai.

Mr Sinha is a graduate from the University of Pune and has a diploma in Cinema from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune (1973).

He has worked in the mainstream feature film industry in Mumbai before joining Films Division in 1982 as Director, and subsequently rose to become Producer and Deputy Chief Producer, a release here yesterday said.

Mr Sinha also holds a diploma in Advanced Management from the Baroda Productivity Council and a diploma in Journalism from K C College of Management studies in 1986.

He has won many national and international awards as Director and Producer. Apart from this, he has also authored a book on cinema titled 'Patkatha Lekhan Ke Tatva', which is approved as a reference book for post-graduate media studies in SNDT University, Mumbai. His short story collections 'Kashish and Siskiyaan' are widely acclaimed.

Some of his important films are 'Antodaya' (1979), 'Changing Face of Punjab' (1982), 'Non Conventional Energy Resources (1983), 'Service of Trees' (1983), 'Taranath Shenoy' (1985), 'Red Palk: A Rich Source of Oil' (1985), 'A Devastating Dawn' (1988), 'The Voice of Indira' (1988), 'Om Shanti' (1989)', 'And Then the Floods' (1990), 'India 91' (1991), 'Druzhba' (1991), 'Indradhanush' (1993), 'Toote Pankh' (1993), 'Waapsi' (1994), 'Through the Lens Starkly' (1996), 'No Room For Fear' (1997) and 'Gandhi: An Emerging Reality' (1997), the release added.
